The Embarcadero in San Francisco is the "Promenade" which runs alongside the south side of the Bay. The earlier port buildings are gradually being replaced by trendy bars and restaurants and the area has experienced a huge and very effective upgrade. The Ferry Building is its heart and the starting point for ferries that serve the Bay. It now includes a food market and restaurants and is always busy. Across the road one can find the metro, a vintage tram service and the Bay Area Rapid Transit stations. All these images were made on a fairly quiet day.
